Hallo, I'm Agnese, drummer and composer based in Rotterdam.
Want to learn to play the drums? Or do you need a little help to finish that arrangement you wrote for your band, or that original tune you are still a bit insecure about? Book a trial lesson in my private studio, we can get to know each other and work together on the things you want to learn!
Les in het Nederlands is ook mogelijk, ja, ik spreek een beetje Nederlands - niet perfect maar ik doe mijn best :)
When I was a kid, I started playing around on my uncle's old drum kit, just for fun, because it was something new... Years later, I moved from Italy to the Netherlands in order to study jazz drums at the conservatorium van Amsterdam. Life in the Netherlands opened up my view on music, and I gained a lot of experience in playing live and in writing music. After my bachelor graduation I moved to Rotterdam where I did a master in jazz composition / arranging at Codarts.
I love playing for people dancing, I enjoy experimenting with triggers, electronics, Ableton and Max patching - I don't go crazy for jam sessions and long improvisations though.
Besides the drums, I also play piano, a bit of guitar and trombone (this one I played a lot in the marching band of my city when I was in Italy).
Want to learn some drums?
We'll start with the basics (technique, posture), we'll go through some grooves (different styles, depending on your taste and requests) and we'll explore some improvisation skills, transcriptions, coordination exercises. And there will always be room for your questions and doubts - as long as I'm able to answer them :)
Main goal: have fun!
Beginners (young and less young) are very welcome! For kids minimum suggested age is 8 years old, younger ones (6/7) can also apply, as soon as their legs are long enough for reaching the drums pedals :) (but I also have a smaller drumkit that can help).
I kan een beetje nederlands spreken, dus les in het nederlands is ook mogelijk.
As a musician, I've always been very much curious and interested in the way music is 'built'. I remember sitting behind the drumset at rehearsals of my town's marching band and 'spying' on the brass section scores in front of me trying to understand why the trombone and trumpet parts were written in two different keys.
Then, during my years as a student, I gained a lot of experience writing for different types of ensembles, from duo to big band, both original music and arrangements, and I perfected my skills with a Master's degree in Jazz Composition/Arranging here in Rotterdam.
Would you like to write your own song? Or would you like to arrange your favourite tune so that you can play it with your band? Or do you know exactly what you want to write, but have no idea HOW to write it down? I can help you with that, and - don't worry - there are no stupid questions and no stupid music :)
