Introductie
Hallo, mijn naam is Allan Raffaele en ik ben een klassiek zanger (tenor) en klassiek gitarist met een grote liefde voor opera en klassieke muziek. Als uitvoerend zanger ben ik bijvoorbeeld als solist te vinden op concertpodia en als freelance zanger in professionele koren, zoals het koor van de Finse Nationale Opera in Helsinki. Liefde voor zingen is bij mij al op jonge leeftijd begonnen en hierdoor ben ik met veel muziekstijlen bekend, zoals musical, pop, jazz en kleinkunst. Dat ik zelf als zanger de voorkeur geef aan het klassieke repertoire zegt absoluut niet dat mijn leerlingen deze voorkeur moeten delen. Omdat ik zelf klassiek geschoold ben is de techniek die ik mijn leerlingen leer ook klassiek, maar deze scholing is goed toe te passen op de andere genres.
Wat voor mij het lesgeven zo bijzonder maakt is dat iedereen een eigen stem heeft met zijn eigen unieke klank. Met wat tips en aanmoediging van een fijne docent kan iedereen naar mijn idee leren zingen. Ik ben er van overtuigd dat er voor iedereen een geschikte lesmethode en repertoire te vinden is en ik ga als zangdocent graag deze uitdaging aan. Het maakt daarom niets uit of je op jonge leeftijd begint met zingen of wanneer je wat ouder bent. Het belangrijkste is om met veel plezier je eigen stem te ontdekken en deze te ontwikkelen op een manier die het beste bij jou past. Ik heb altijd veel bewondering voor instrumentalisten en de liefde die mensen voor hun instrument koesteren. Het mooie aan de stem vind ik dat het jouw eigen instrument is en dit maakt het beheersen van dit instrument zo persoonlijk. Terwijl jezelf als mens opgroeit, jezelf ontwikkelt en langzaam ouder wordt verandert je stem voortdurend mee. Met je stem als instrument ben je eigenlijk nooit uitgeleerd en ligt er een wonderlijke wereld vol ontdekkingen voor je.
Mijn bachelor studie heb ik gevolgd aan de Sibelius-Academy in Helsinki, Finland na het behalen van mijn muziekdocent diploma in Tampere, Finland. Momenteel ben ik bezig met het laatste jaar van mijn master studie, welke ik volg aan het Santa Cecilia conservatorium in Rome, Italië als Erasmus student van de Sibelius-Academy.

Hello, my name is Allan Raffaele and I am a classical singer (tenor) and classical guitarist with a great love for opera and classical music. As a performing singer, I can be found as a soloist on concert stages and as a freelance singer in professional choirs, such as the choir of Finnish National opera. My love for singing started at a young age and as a result I am familiar with many musical styles, such as musical, pop, jazz and cabaret. Even if a singer prefers the classical repertoire, that does not necessarily mean that my students have to share this preference. Because I am classically trained myself, the technique I teach my students is also classical, but this training can be easily applied to other genres.
What makes teaching so special for me is that everyone has their own voice with their own unique sound. With some tips and encouragement from a great teacher, I believe anyone can learn to sing. I am convinced that there is a suitable teaching method and repertoire for everyone and as a singing teacher I am happy to take on this challenge. It therefore makes no difference whether you start singing at a young age or when you are a little older. The most important thing is to enjoy discovering your own voice and developing it in a way that suits you best. I have always admired instrumentalists and the love people have for their instruments. I think the great thing about the voice is that it is your own instrument and this makes mastering this instrument so personal. As you grow up as a person, develop yourself and slowly age, your voice constantly changes. With your voice as an instrument you never stop learning and there is a wonderful world full of discoveries ahead of you.
I completed my bachelor studies in Sibelius-Academy Helsinki, Finland after obtaining my music pedagogy diploma in Tampere, Finland. At the moment I am finishing my master studies in conservatory of Santa Cecilia in Rome, Italy as an erasmus student from Sibelius-Academy.

De lessen worden in principe gegeven in het Engels. Tevens is het mogelijk de lessen te volgen in het Italiaans, Russisch of Fins. Indien gewenst kan ik natuurlijk mijn hulp aanbieden tijdens het instuderen van teksten in deze talen, als u deze zelf niet beheerst.

In principle, the lessons are given in English. It’s also possible to do the lessons in Italian, Russian or Finnish. If desired, I can of course offer my help during the study of texts in these languages, if you don’t speak them yourself.

Zangles
Wanneer je bent vastgelopen met zingen, brandende vragen hebt over je zangtechniek of de eerste stappen in het zingen wilt zetten help ik je natuurlijk graag. Graag ga ik samen zoeken naar oplossingen en bied je de tools aan om de kwaliteit van het zingen te verbeteren en/of het vak te leren. Hierdoor keert het plezier in het zingen weer terug, want niets is belangrijker dan vrij met veel plezier te zingen!
In principe geef ik de zanglessen online, maar bepaalde periodes heb ik de mogelijkheid om ook in Dordrecht les te geven. Hier heb ik een mooie muziekruimte tot mijn beschikking en alle benodigdheden zijn aanwezig om in een fijne sfeer les te geven. Wanneer ik in Nederland ben is het in overleg ook mogelijk om een andere locatie voor de lessen af te spreken, bijvoorbeeld bij jou thuis. De aanwezigheid van een piano of ander instrument is geen vereiste maar kan wel handig zijn, bijvoorbeeld om je begintoon te vinden. De niveaus van mijn leerlingen verschillen van beginner tot semi-professional. Sinds het begin van de Covid-19 pandemie geef ik ook online les. Uiteraard is hiervoor een goed (wifi) netwerk en apparatuur vanuit de leerling vereist.
Singing lessons
If you are stuck with singing, have burning questions about your singing technique or want to take the first steps in singing, I will of course be happy to help you. I would like to look for solutions together and offer you the tools to improve the quality of singing and/or learn the trade. This brings back the fun in singing, because nothing is more important than singing freely with great pleasure!
Which repertoire suits you as a singer? We will look for the answer to this question together. I would also be happy to help you analyze the repertoire, both musically and lyrically, and provide the necessary background information. If you can't read music, that's no problem, but we still use sheet music. In this way you develop reading the sheet music. Do you want to make sound recordings in class? I would love to, because then you give yourself the opportunity to listen to and practice everything quietly at home.
In principle, I give singing lessons online, but certain periods I have possibility to teach in Dordrecht as well. There I have a beautiful music room and all the necessities are available to teach in a nice atmosphere. When I am in the Netherlands it is also possible to arrange another location for the lessons, for example at your home. The presence of a piano or other instrument is not a requirement but can be useful, for example to find your starting note. The levels of my students vary from beginner to semi-professional. I have also been teaching online since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. Naturally, this requires a good (Wi-Fi) network and equipment from the student.
Gitaarles
Mijn opleiding klassiek gitaar heb ik afgerond aan het conservatorium van Tampere in Finland, na het behalen van mijn diploma muziektechnologie aan hetzelfde conservatorium. Omdat ik zelf klassiek geschoold ben, is de techniek die ik mijn leerlingen aanleer ook klassiek, maar deze training is prima toe te passen op andere genres. Tijdens mijn klassieke gitaarstudie heb ik ook flamenco, vrije begeleiding en zang gestudeerd terwijl ik mezelf begeleidde op de gitaar. Gitaar spelen en zingen tegelijk blijkt in de praktijk lastiger dan het lijkt, daarom wil ik mijn leerlingen (als zij dit wensen) graag leren hoe zij het zingen en gitaarspelen kunnen combineren.
Guitar lessons
I completed my classical guitar study in Conservatory of Tampere, Finland after obtaining my music technology diploma in the same Conservatory. Because I am classically trained myself, the technique I teach my students is also classical, but this training can be easily applied to other genres. During my classical guitar studies, I also studied flamenco, free accompaniment and singing while accompanying myself on the guitar. Playing the guitar and singing together in practice turns out to be more difficult than it seems, that’s why I would like to teach my students (if they wish) how to combine singing and playing the guitar.
