Hallo! Dit is Martí, ik ben jazz klarinetist en saxofonist. Ik heb een bachelor- en masterdiploma behaald aan het Conservatorium van Amsterdam, waar ik de kans kreeg om te leren van enkele van de beste muzikanten uit het vakgebied.  Ik begon met muziek maken op 8-jarige leeftijd in Spanje en werd verliefd op jazzmuziek dankzij de platen die mijn vader thuis draaide. Mijn passie voor muziek maakte dat ik professioneel muzikant wilde worden.

Met meer dan 2 jaar als klarinet- en saxofoondocent, samen met mijn 8+ jaar aan muzikale optredens als solist en als muzikant in sectie, voel ik me gemotiveerd om mijn ervaring en kennis te delen met studenten die hun muzikale vaardigheden willen verbeteren. Mijn lessen omvatten klarinet- en saxofoontechniek, muziektheorie en improvisatie. De lessen zijn beschikbaar voor alle niveaus, ook voor absolute beginners.

Hello, this is Martí Mitjavila. I'm a jazz clarinetist and saxophonist. I hold a bachelors and masters degree from the Conservatory of Amsterdam, where I got the chance to learn from some of the best musicians in the field. I started playing music at 8 years old in Spain, and fell in love with jazz music thanks to the records my father used to play at home. My passion for music made me want to become a professional musician.

With more than 2 years as a clarinet and saxophone teacher, together with my 8+ years of musical performances as a soloist and as a musician in section, I feel motivated to share my experience and knowledge with students who want to improve their musical skills. My lessons include clarinet and saxophone technique, music theory and improvisation. Lessons are available for all levels, also for absolute beginners.

My clarinet lessons provide a structured approach to learning this instrument. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced player, this course covers essential skills and concepts. An own instrument is needed. I teach ages from 8 years old and above, since the clarinet requires a certain amount of strength and breath control.

Beginner lessons:  We will work on posture, embouchure, basic fingerings and first notes. We will also talk about various breathing techniques and tone production, with simple melodies and rhythmic exercises.

Intermediate lessons: Expanding range and improving tone quality. Introduction to more complex repertoire. Playing with expression and musicality.

Advanced lessons: Mastering breath control and phrasing. Improvisation. Complex repertoire.
